Here it is!
I had shared with all of you my
inspiration for this party
which meant a lot to me because it was my Anniversary Party with the hubby.
Now, here's the post with bright colorful inspiration just in the time to end the Summer with a tropical twist!
Inspired by bright colors, tropical flavors and happiness!
Mixing patterns with fabric and paper...
Some of the food at the party included Ropa Vieja with Chimichurri (Shredded Beef Cuban Style with Argentinian Sauce on top) , Mini Pina Colada and Pear Mojito Drinks. The Coco Rico pictured is a Coconut flavored soda from Puerto Rico.
My friend Wendy was so wonderful to bake not one but two cakes for us,
we had Mango Coconut Cake and Dulce De Leche Cake (Caramel!).
The Mango Coconut Cake was topped beautifully with this couple wooden peg from Jenny at
Crossing the Bugger Dixon Line who did such a phenomenal job at illustrating the real us.
My daughter Melanie painted a wooden base for the peg toppers using the party colors.
The second cake and Dulce de Leche flavor (Caramel) was topped with a very cute edible cockatoo couple from
Love & Sugar Kisses who also made the hibiscus flowers for both cakes. I added a little touch of the patterns with flags on top.
Here's a close up to some of the desserts...
my favorite homemade creation when I was little, Mantecaditos!
I wanted color and I wanted mason jars and Lisa at
Sugarlily Cookie Co. created just that! I love her mason jar cookies. And it goes perfectly with the mason jars I painted for vases for the table....
My daughter Tiana baked two different cupcake recipes, we had Lemon Creme Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing and Vanilla Cupcakes with a Dark Chocolate Surprise (icing with chocolate shavings inside). For the cupcakes I was inspired to make flowers with green cupcake liners and topped with fondant flowers from
Edible Details. I was inspired by a
post on Pizzazzerie that featured some colorful embellished cupcakes from
Eventity Inc.
This fabric was one of my first purchases for the party and I enjoyed coming up with a great idea to use it....a background! The biggest piece is mounted on a wooden board with the green frame on top and then for the sides I covered two canvas boards on the same fabric and added the tissue decor to go along with the colors. On the tables, I used this quatrefoil pattern green runner and tablecloth from Target and on the dessert table you might notice I added yellow confetti pieces by punching scalloped circles of a yellow cardstock, that was to add the yellow on the table itself. Theres painted mason jars with fresh flowers and the candles on the sides are just a great statement to add to the table. My two cockatoo figurines from Hobby Lobby were also a big part of the inspiration in the beginning and I love the rustic look on them.
The guests took home some of the goodies including these delicious Dulce De Leche Caramels, on these boxes from
Pamela Smerker Designs that by now you must know that I enjoy using very much because I love her designs!
We had a great anniversary party celebrating our 19 years and a beautiful family. I'm so thankful to all the vendors that worked to make this great for us as well as our friends for celebrating with us!
