Magnolias and Bees Inspiration

I'm letting you in on a little secret I'm working on...

I bought a fabric from Jo-Ann Fabric that inspired me for an entire display of sweets. I'm making my flowers be Magnolias and working with bees keeping away from the traditional yellow because that's one of the things I enjoy doing the most.  I'll have the pleasure of working as a contributor for Polka Dot Balloon Magazine so you'll have to wait and check out the Summer issue for more!

Looking forward to working with these vendors and friends: Pamela Smerker Designs

note: although the fabric links to Jo-Ann for credit, the photo is my own take and I could not find the fabric online. I purchased it at one of their stores.

Natural and Moss Easter Party

I had the pleasure of styling a table for Knoxville Moms Blog Easter Party at our local Little Gym of Farragut and I decided to give the table a natural look and allow the goodies to bring in the classic pastel Easter colors.

KJ Cookies was so nice to bring in some great cookie designs that I had design and I love that "springing" cookie because it just symbolizes all the new flowers, the new feelings, the new weather that we have all been waiting for with the new season. And Sweet Whimsy Shop made delicious vanilla and chocolate sprinkled cakepops. So excited the kids loved everything!

The pastel color cookies are the new pinata cookies offered by KJ Cookies, what a cute surprise for the kids to open one of these!

Happy Easter 2014!

Wishing you a happy and blessed Easter and a beautiful day!

Non alcoholic Guava Mojito Recipe

I had the pleasure a few months back to work with Carrie of A Sweet Spot Home to create a recipe for the Winter Issue of her magazine by the same name. I created a tropical drink for New Year's Eve that was perfect for teenagers, moms to be and everyone else that likes to keep things simple!
Now we are enjoying warmer days for Spring and soon enough it will be Summer. This is your perfect drink for those family get togethers and parties and I love the fact that is non alcoholic, that it has the added twist of guava flavor to a simple lime mojito and you can have as much as you want.
Enjoy the recipe!

Non Alcoholic Guava Mojito
Recipe: (Per glass)

2 slices of lime
3 mint leaves
2 tablespoons of turbinado cane sugar
1/2 cup frozen limeade juice mix
1/2 cup guava nectar
1/2 cup club soda
and plenty of ice!

Squeeze the lime really well on the glass with the mint leaves and sugar.

Add the limeade juice, guava nectar and club soda and mix well.

Fill it up with ice and enjoy!
