My inspiration for this bridal shower came to me from a visit to a JoAnn Fabric and Craft Store while picking up supplies for another party. The moment I saw this fabric I saw a different take on a bee theme. Quick thoughts of chocolate desserts and dark tones came to mind along with the pastels because of the light blue shade the fabric has on the flower designs. I decided to turn my attention to magnolias for the flowers and a "Magnolias and Bees" theme was created for this. You'll see the fabric here on the main cake table as tablecover and used on an embroidery hoop which adorns the gift table. A coordinating fabric is also used on the gifts table. To the tablecover I added the pretty ribbon garland by
Pop of Happy to coordinate. I'm so excited to share this images captured by

This theme is so beautiful to celebrate a bride as well as for her to thank her bridesmaids with gifts and sweets, all honey and bee inspired desserts. The
Creekside Nurseries green house provided us a location which is both perfect for the theme and beautiful ambience for such a cherished occasion. I love how you can make an intimate gathering to celebrate privately in such a location like this one.
Pamela Smerker Designs created lovely gift and favor boxes and a printable design which was used in tags for the gifts, honeycomb toppers for the cupcakes, embroidery hoops for the table and embellished for the cake as a topper. Also the flags on the honey spoons which match the designs.
Magnolias decorated the tables and can be seen in the desserts as on the cookies and fondant covered oreos by
KJ Cookies and
Love & Sugar Kisses.
Taste of Art by Wendy Symons made gorgeous looking rosette chocolate cookies topped with edible gold bees and lavender hydrangeas chocolate cupcakes. The cake is so stunning and beeutifully made by Regina Long of
B&G Catering and I'm loving not only the colors and magnolias embellished in gold but also the honeycomb texture is just gorgeous. The cake pops by
Sweet Whimsy Shop deserved a pedestal, and they are not only delicious but a great addition to bring in the colors of the theme out and as they stand in moss for the table I added a sweetness to them with the little burlap bows. Other additions to the tables were rock candy, honey spoons, real honeycomb with crackers and honey waffles... can you say tea time? In case a take out it's in order, the chocolate covered kettle corn it's perfect for that on their own little boxes from
Pamela Smerker Designs that I embellished for the occasion.
