Quinceañero Court of Honor - Will you be my maid?

Did you hear the news? We're celebrating a Quinceañero soon and today I'm sharing with you what we created to ask the girls that will be taking part in the Court of Honor better known as Damas.

Lovely ideas you can use to ask your bridesmaids on a Wedding too.  Keep up with all our Quinceañero planning on instagram too: #melaniesprincesstale or follow us as @inflightideas!

mason jar tags from Sweetly Scrapped Art on Etsy

Above are clear glass rustic boxes we found at Hobby Lobby and were given to two of the girls who are Damas de Honor (kind of like maid of honors).  All boxes were filled with pink favorites and included information as seen above for when it is, what to expect and a color palette. Also they all had a pinata cookie from KJ Cookies with a little surprise inside!

These really cute design cards that I printed as tags are a free printable design for place cards from Wedding Chicks

Rustic Modern Pink Quinceañero Inspiration

I'm super excited to be planning my second daughter's 15th birthday as we say in my puertorican culture, Quinceañero.  Melanie's birthday is in the winter months and we're looking forward to celebrating next Summer with family and friends in Tennessee.

This inspiration of course is perfect for any Quinceañera, Sweet 16 or Bride!  Looking forward to mixing in rustic wood and country looks with glittery, shiny and modern accents.  I think is sugar and spice and everything nice!

Check out our blue butterflies inspired Quinceañero for our first daughter Tiana; in Harmony, Florida and also here on the blog. Stay tuned for other Quince celebrations posts including how we asked her damas (maids) to her court of honor!

A Sixties MOD Bash

I helped my aunt Laura celebrate her 60th birthday in a Sixties MOD style with a really cool bash full of 60s music, vintage records, memories, and an awesome dessert table.

Record Invitation by Kori Clark Designs read a Carpenter's song lyrics: Yesterday Once More

Banners like this one by Vanessa Grant Events displayed names of Laura's favorite 60s songs.

The sign in - welcome table

Lava lamps, old photos, sixties cookies and records for our sign in table.

The escort card table

Dessert Table

I LOVE how the desserts look on these clear raisers from The Container Store.  The Labels had also names of songs under the food description.

Annie 2014 Movie Party!

Annie is coming, Annie is coming to theaters and I couldn't be more excited....so I had to plan a party!
See for yourselves, if you haven't yet.

How do you celebrate an Annie movie, or party?  Of course with red and white, and for me also purple! I mean look at that dessert spread on the background...can you say macaron tower?!!

Oh Annie, bet your bottom dollar that the sun will come out TOMORROW!

The Book of Life Party Inspiration {A Day of the Dead Celebration}

The Book of Life Movie is coming out this year on October 17th, right before Halloween.  It is associated (and you can read all the rumors about the movie here) with the Day of the Dead, a Mexican tradition which in spanish is Dia de los Muertos.  Where you celebrate and honor friends and family that have died with prayers, offerings, and gifts.

I'm all excited about the movie, the colors, the proposal, the "La Muerte Castle" and the "Land of the Remembered"!  When I saw this movie trailer in the movie theater a couple of months ago, I thought right away that I had to make a party inspired on it!  So here we are, a month before the movie comes out I have all my plans down and I want to share my wonderful inspiration with you today!
I'm TEAM Manolo, by the way!

I can't wait to style this one and have lots of fun with all the colors!
