My daughter Melanie's 12th Birthday Movies Inspired Party
We started by sending out the invitations designed by Oh My Gluestick and we added a little flair to the envelopes with scrapbook details and ribbon since they were delivered by hand.
We had a grand entrance with a
marquee that had lighted stars
(found at Michael's in the posters section)
and rolled out the red carpet!
the living room was set up with
a curtain above the tv and posters on every wall.
and displayed 'movie memorabilia' on our living room curio
We placed the couch directly in front of the TV and a table and chairs
behind it for the girls to snack on the yummy treats while they
watched the movie.
On the far wall we had a photo booth for the girls
complete with a red velvet carpet (that looks black on the pictures,
sorry!). And glasses, tiaras and all sorts of props.
The party was
just for girls and they watched "Soul Surfer" and "Aquamarine".
The treats they enjoyed for the movie were candy, nuts and of course,
popcorn.
We had "lights, camera, action" favor bags with black and white pencils
and candy. I'm big on games and prizes so we had movie themed and
Coca Cola themed prizes for a riffle
to make it fun for the girls.
We served pizza and coke and then enjoyed a wonderful
dessert table with Red Velvet Cake, oreo cookies and cupcakes and
individual red velvet cake rolls.

The golden stars on the cupcakes are Edible Details fabulous work
with fun edible glitter.
I chose to use the "tickets" from the printable collection as toppers for our red velvet cake rolls and added them to these fun toothpicks from Target's $1 section.
Movie themed cookies from Bee's Knees Creative
were not only a pretty addition but also really buttery so they went
perfectly with the themed treats.
We decorated some of the cupcakes with marshmallows to
make them look like popcorn bags. A second choice of vanilla cupcakes
was also offered with Edible Details' movie themed toppers.
On the dessert table, I crafted some rossettes in the colors of the party
and we included movie props from Hobby Lobby and Party City.
