Bird Silhouette Inspiration

The above tags by Susan's Greetings  inspired a whole table for me.
I've been keeping an eye on everything silhouette
and knew that I wanted to make something with them,
until of course my little feather friends once again help my imagination flight...
it had to be bird silhouettes!
Susan had created the tags inspired on the Taxi Timeless Treasure Fabric
and I incorporated those into the table perfectly if I can say so myself!
Thanks Susan for your creative contribution to my Silhouette Table!

Easy Tomato Tarts Recipe

At our latest Blue Valentine's Party
I served heart shaped 'pizzas' for lunch
and it was a hit with the ladies, so I'm sharing
the recipe here with all of you!

Easy Tomato Tarts
Makes 4 tarts
Prep time: Approx. 7 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

13 ounces ready-rolled puff pastry
4 tablespoons sun-dried tomato paste or olive tapenade
20 cherry tomatoes, each one sliced into 3 wedges
1 ball of mozzarella cheese or 4 handfuls of grated Parmesan cheese
1 handful of fresh basil leaves (I used and prefer oregano)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Sprinkle flour on a clean work surface. Roll out the puff pastry on the work surface and cut into 6 evenly sized squares or rectangles.  Grease a baking tray and put the pastry squares onto the tray.  Spread a little sun-dried tomato paste or olive tapenade over the pastry, but try to leave the very edges bare.  Arrange the sliced tomatoes over the tomato paste and try to place them in a layer rather than piling them up.  Tear the mozzarella cheese into little pieces and put some on top of the tomatoes.  Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed and the mozzarella is melted.  When out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh basil or oregano leaves.

Enjoy! And share your pictures with me!

A Blue Valentine's

I had the pleasure of spending time with friends this past Saturday
on a lunch I hosted to showcase my work.
I named the event, Blue Valentine's
Why? Just because as much as I love Valentine's Day
and all the pink, white and red decorations
that comes around on these days leading to it,
I also found that blue can be as gentle,
beautiful, lovely, inspired, romantic as you want it to be.
There is actually a lot of blue hearts
and blue colors party related items out there to get you going.
After all, it is a beautiful Wedding color.
I should say that my heart is not blue
and this party has no relation to the now released movie Blue Valentine,
although I am dying to watch it.

Enjoy!

A little flashback...

I recently found these pictures of my littlest one's first two birthdays
and wanted to share with all of you a little flashback...
(By the way, he's now 7 3/4)

Tigger 1st Birthday in orange and light blue color coordinates.
We celebrated in Orlando, FL with family and friends
on a beautiful day at the park.

Yummy Vanilla and Chocolate Cupcakes from Publix
(I miss Publix!!!)

We had little Tigger picture frames with Joel's 1st Picture
for our guests, Orange and Light Blue M&Ms that back on those days
you could only order online....yes, I remember! And I put together
a Birthday Hat for him using a 1st Birthday hat from Party City on
a round foam and decorated with paper streamer. In the back you can
barely see but I also made Candy Melt Lollipops in orange and light blue
colors with Winnie the Pooh designs.  So fun!

Tigger figures from Dollar Tree were decorated on small foam circles
and orange paper streamer and I attached a 1st Birthday sign.
(His gifts in the back matched the party with Tigger wrapping paper).

Second Birthday just as fun with Little People...
ohh ebay was good to me... I found so much there,
including toddler cups with lids, banners and  place cards.
I made the cupcake toppers out of Little People stickers.

Used some of the Little People toys to decorate the cake with
going with the farm theme which was one of his favorite Little People's toys,
there's a little mud puddle for the piggies in chocolate.
I loved baking and making this cake!...

So his 8th birthday is coming soon in May,
and Yes!  I already started planning for it!
It's so fun to see what they're into each year,
but for his 8th birthday I'm gonna give his guests
a little insight not on what he's into at the moment
but what he is actually all about,  all day, everyday of the year!
(Stay tuned!...)

Also looking forward to a post all about 1st birthdays really soon!!
