Thank you for a Great 2010 and Cheers to the New Year!

I started my blog on Party Planning and Dessert Table Design at the end of October 2010, after years of thinking and planning I could share my inspiration and creativity with others.  It took flight and it's been a great delight to my heart to get such great feedback and wonderful comments from friends, family and so many creative minds out in this field.  It's been a pleasure and an honor to be featured and included on a few of their blogs and websites and I want to say much thanks for that,  I am so appreciative of the warm welcome I have received.  I am just as grateful to the creative hands on Etsy, which is always my first place to look while shopping for a party.  Those many wonderful cookies and candy and paper products that bring a smile on my face when a package arrives at my door.

Thank you for a great, warm welcome and the beautiful few months this year that made my imagination flight,  for the opportunity to be included in the following blogs and Cheers to a New Year full of new ideas and inspiration and sweet new beginnings....

Pink Sock Monkey Party

Nothing more sweet than Sock Monkey...in Pink! (okay, maybe owls and birds if you personally know me)....This party was inspired by my daughter and birthday girl  AND her passion for anything related to monkeys,  and I love how every little detail came together, perfectly.  I had a little bit more time to plan this party and because of it, it turned from good to great!  Lesson learned:  the more time you allow for the party the bigger it gets by the minute, imagination and inspiration just take off!

This handmade banner personalized with the birthday girl's name and made in fabric and ribbons is from the lovely shop craftysweethearts

These cute Sock Monkey Cupcake Toppers made with fondant are from Two Sugar Babies

The Party Hats are from the fabulous Kate Landers at Kate Landers Events LLC Sample Sale and they fit just perfectly into our party...

She had her 'BFFs' to help her celebrate and each girl had her own place setting with a name tag...the tags were handmade by Catnip Studio

Handmade Banana Pudding with the cutest little dessert spoons I found at Home Goods
The most cutest Cookies by Truly Scrupmtious Cookies
and Delicious Mini Doughnuts by Dough A Deer

So, you might remember a particular post I had some time ago about winning 6 dozen mini doughnuts from Dough A Deer's  Blog . Nicole is the sweetest and you can not eat only one of her doughnuts!

Ok, so I'm not as much of a baker as I am a party planner....However, my daughters have found plenty of inspiration in Bakerella's book (and if you haven't seen it you must and can find it here ).  My daughter suggested that we made Banana Cake Pops for her Birthday Party...and off I went to shape those Cake Pops to look like Bananas and we ended up with White Chocolate Banana Cake Pops!!!

Lollipops by Simple Tastes are standing in Strawberry Milkshake Whoppers and the Cupcake Cups in the background are  from sweet treats party

Homemade Chocolate Cupcakes with Strawberry Icing to match the cute Printables and Cupcake Toppers created by Oh My Gluestick

I made a curtain background with leftover tulle and added precious ribbon as curtain holders,  the tree (which was adorned with some of the printables) and ornaments add a little Christmas-y deco as her birthday is relatively during this Season.

Birthday girl blowing her candle (11 now!).

Silly girls...

We roasted hot dogs outside (in the cold!) for dinner with cheesy nachos, then
the girls enjoyed a Sleepover and in the morning a delicious hot cocoa with more doughnuts and of course....Bananas!

Sock Monkey Breakfast!

I have linked this party to a great Party Contest below...

A Kids Holiday Party (The Healthier Version)

How can I resist making a Kids Holiday Party this year and giving it a healthier approach?   Well I didn't...Hope the kids had as much fun as I did.......  Seriously, I think they did.  If not only because they got to eat Chocolate Cake at the end to celebrate a friend's birthday (Shhhhh!), but because I think they secretly DO enjoy Fruits and Veggies

The above Strawberry Tree is my Kids Version of Pizzazzerie's DIY: Very Berry Holiday Tree  which by the way,  it's a must see!  I made mine more 'kid friendly' by adding Sixlets as ornaments...

The wonderful and fun printables used for the party are from Shindig Parties TO GO and I worked wonders with them....on Background, Cream Cheese 'Labels', Sandwich Wrappers and even to make cute small servings of carrots and celery.  The Printable collection includes and I used the Cupcake Wrappers (used for Trail Mix and Banana Chips inside Baking Cups), Cupcake Toppers (used on cheese servings this time) and the Write-On Food Labels.  Amazing!
For the treats, we had Rice Cakes, Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches, Veggie Crackers, Fruit, Cream Chesse Dip, Veggies, A variety of cheeses and meats and Chocolate Milk!

I decorated the top with fabric and holiday ornaments to compliment the party colors.  LOVE how pretty the turquoise and lime green look together....Can't wait to plan many, many parties with that color...hint, hint

Table for the kids below,  I was so happy to find tableware at Target that matched perfectly to the theme and colors and after treats we had fun with a "Holiday Gift Shop" for the kids where they got to exchange their given tickets for gifts either for themselves or somebody special.

I don't want to forget to mention that the cute snow balls on the table were found on Etsy , at the The Shabby Chic Cottage ...and they were ohh so cute!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to Everyone!  And come back soon to see my Three Kings Day Dessert Table I'm working on...it's going to be bright!
