DIY Chalkboard Coasters

My daughters painted these awesome coasters for our latest party and I want to share with you how easy it is.

 The coasters which we found at Michael's are already regular chalkboard coasters but didn't quite went with the colors at our party. They painted them using Martha Stewart Crafts' Multi-Surface chalkboard acrylic paint in green.

 Their idea was for me to use as labels for the dessert table. Genious!

 I got a little creative with the labels making cute designs to coordinate the disney theme.

The chalk marker is from Paper Source and it's not permanent. It erases just as regular chalk.

 How fun would these be for a cheese and wine party!

Party Tips {Labeling your Cups}

I found a great idea on Better Homes and Gardens March 2011 to use rubber bands and tags to identify glasses, I love using it at my parties and everyone has fun with it!

Use any type of label of your choice, a couple pens and rubber bands.
Place on a small basket for presentation and set out yours as an example.

Neon Inspired 17th Birthday

My oldest daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday neon style this year...I thought the perfect printable collection to go along with the party could only be the one and only, Glow in the Dark by Piggy Bank Parties!

The kids celebrated by watching an outdoor movie on lounge chairs and blankets and we served grilled hot dogs and chips.  After the desserts, which were served inside; they went back out for smores.  They had a great time and my baby girl enjoyed herself with friends and wearing her glow in the dark buttlerfly mask.

Walmart even has glow in the dark straws, LED balloons and masks besides the usual necklaces and bracelets.....cool!

We served a little bit of Tiana's favorites as chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies along with some neon/colorful treats like the lemonheads and sour strips.  She made the chocolate cakepops herself as that is something she does much better than me around here.... {she usually is my baking right hand}

Happy Birthday Baby Girl, you are growing up tooooo fast!

Kiki's Delivery Service {An Anniversary Feature}

Tomorrow is our 1st Anniversary and I want to celebrate with a styled dessert table featuring one of my girls' favorite characters....Kiki

Kiki is from the movie Kiki's Delivery Service, a Japanese animated movie. She is a little witch in training who together with her cat Gigi, leaves home to find herself and who she is to become.  Is a sweet movie, and the songs are so inspiring.   I had so much fun asking my kids for the things that should be included in the shoot and they wanted to make sure I included the famous clock tower and blimp from the movie, the breads from the bakery she worked at; and pancakes....

I wanted to show Kiki in a mystic and secret way, the way that would inspire you to learn about her but not really give you it all.  I want to inspire you to go and learn about Kiki and this fabulous movie while not showing you the real Kiki in the shoot....that is the beauty of the silhouette.  Pen n' Paper flowers created a beautiful silhouette of Kiki for us.

I won't go on any further, because I want you to enjoy the pictures....

Thank you to all my beautiful, talented and creative vendors for working with my inspiration!

Sweet Stand

If you haven't yet, make sure and visit the first post on this Sweet Shoppe Party, an elementary graduation party I had for my sweet daughter this June.

I created a sweets stand for her and loved the results...

 The sweet stand offered cookies, candy buttons, meringue cookies, cherry yogurt pretzels, green apple pixie sticks, plenty of lollipops of and  ice cream shoppe flavored pop tarts

I found this fabric and the one on top of the stand at Hobby Lobby in the home fabrics section, and I knew I had to use it!

The kids played "pin the cherry on the cupcake", an idea by the honoree. Our good friend, Alexa, that created it for us even added real sprinkles on it!
