Celebrating Weekday Birthdays {My Piggy Bank Parties Contributor Post}

In case you didn't know,
I shared ideas on celebrating birthdays during the rush and routine of the week....

Here's some of the tips hightlighted from the article:

  • Make a special breakfast!
  • Serve a cake with 'everyday' dinner!
  • Make a birthday countdown for the kids to look forward to their special date!
  • Have a special dinner!

Visit the post at Piggy Bank Parties OINK! blog here, to read more on each of the ideas above including how to make a birthday countdown by Maria of Love & Sugar Kisses, making these fun Muffin Tin Meals from Mariah at Giggles Galore and even a recipe from one of our Piggy Bank Parties' Crew Members, Dorothy of Life is Sweet in Michigan: Ham and Cheese Bites.

I believe life is about celebrating the little things, and the not so little....
birthdays can be just as special on any day and you don't have to spend much or
make it a party in order to honor the birthday person and make it special!
Stay tuned to my monthly contributions to Piggy Bank Parties as I plan to make
this celebrating theme a four part series including celebrating the precious loose tooth and double and half birthdays.

Neon Inspired 17th Birthday

My oldest daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday neon style this year...I thought the perfect printable collection to go along with the party could only be the one and only, Glow in the Dark by Piggy Bank Parties!

The kids celebrated by watching an outdoor movie on lounge chairs and blankets and we served grilled hot dogs and chips.  After the desserts, which were served inside; they went back out for smores.  They had a great time and my baby girl enjoyed herself with friends and wearing her glow in the dark buttlerfly mask.

Walmart even has glow in the dark straws, LED balloons and masks besides the usual necklaces and bracelets.....cool!

We served a little bit of Tiana's favorites as chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies along with some neon/colorful treats like the lemonheads and sour strips.  She made the chocolate cakepops herself as that is something she does much better than me around here.... {she usually is my baking right hand}

Happy Birthday Baby Girl, you are growing up tooooo fast!

Small Halloween Dessert Table for Piggy Bank Parties

I styled a small party to showcase the collection as part of the Piggy Bank Parties' Contributors Crew October Challenge.  My table was inspired on not only the collection but being able to shop for everything in one trip.  All the treats are store bought and easy to style together with Halloween Decor that you might have already at home.  I used the collection papers to wrap around the drink bottles to create owls.  My one stop shopping was at Walmart which gave me the opportunity to pick up googly eyes, additional decor and lace which I used to embellish the favor bags.

And remember you don't have to be a great baker, stylist or party planner to create something fabulous even for the smallest of parties, it's all in the details!  And when in a hurry, visit your local grocery store and shop for everything in one stop, it's amazing what you can find!

Are you getting ready for Halloween?!!

We proudly helped raised our goal of $100 and I managed to host a stand with no expenses other than the ingredients to make fresh lemonade....

Thanks Rita's Ice for your donation!
