Meet our Judges ~ Dawn Smith {Not Just A Mommy}

Meet the creative woman behind Not Just A Mommy, Dawn Smith

I like her saying....It can't be just about the kids!

I invited Dawn to help me judge our Dessert Table Contest because I know she follows and admires some of the best party and event planners and stylers there are and she is one inspiring party momma herself!  I met on through Twitter and started following on her ideas as well, and the best thing I like about Dawn is how supportive and such a great fan she is!

About Dawn:

"Hello! My name is Dawn and I live in Seattle. I'm a mom to 2 wonderful boys, a proud military wife of a Marine and owner of a very hyper mini schnauzer.  I have a B.S. in Mathematics so I'm a bit of a geek but my true passion is entertaining. I have a little party blog called Not Just A Mommy! because I needed a place to get all the ideas out that were constantly pinging around in my head.  Hubby isn't very excited when I talk about party stuff, so I figured total strangers would be.  I don't just ramble about parties, though; I love to share about fun places to check out, cool crafts and tutorials, and all things entertaining. And every now and then, I may rant about something...but not too often."

Dawn's Parties:

I love how Dawn incorporates so many ideas into her parties.... I like playing I spy with her images because you'll find so many vendors, ideas and her own handcrafted goodies!

I LOVE that last one pictured....amazingly cute!

Follow along on Dawn's inspiration, creativity and ideas on her blog, facebook, twitter and pinterest!
and don't forget to get your entries in to our Contest by November 28th!!!

Thanks Dawn for judging our contest!!

She is not only one of our fabulous judges but also a prize sponsor. For the winner of our contest, there is a $45 value credit to her shop for a Printable Party Set from one of her really cute collections on the shop.

About Kori:

"My name is Kori and I live in sunny Florida where I share my home with my sweet husband, two excited toddlers, and two large dogs who shed a bit too much. My computer is my life line and I have been using it to illustrate original graphics for over 10 years.  It was love at first digital illustration, and I graduated in digital arts. Since that time I have worked corporately and then had the opportunity to stay home and try to make this a full time gig, with freelance work. In spring of 2010 I launched Paper & Pigtails to concentrate on party designs!"

I love her work, I can relate to a lot of the colors and the themes that Kori uses and I'm lucky to have had Kori worked on some custom party supplies for me using my blog's logo to create party circles and a beautiful banner.  Kori also created our Free Father's Day Printable Circles.

Decor by Yael Feature

I'm so excited to share with you pictures of our Aussie friend Yael, an event planner and stylist!  Check out all the wonderful props on the tables at different events.  She shared with us her description on each.

Pink and Pretty Girls party - For the kids tables I had polka dot boxes heaped with all things
gorgeous and yummy from liquid wands, parasols, feather boas, large lollipops and heaps of ribbon.
Each place setting had a mini box of candies for take home

Adults tables were complimentary floral arrangements with pink rose topiaries and hydrangeas in white pots.  Each table had a contrasting polka dot runner.  The napkins were wrapped in shear ribbon with mini flowers inset underneath

Mad Hatters theme Adult tables had giant T Cups filled moss rocks, gerberas and sign posts saying
'looking glass', 'eat me' ....mini t cups with roses were scattered around the table...Polka dot lycra chair covers added to the quirkiness of the theme!

Boys party age 12 Theme : Citrus Splash...contrasting orange and aqua lycra chair covers and napkins bought the room to life!  Colour coordinated lollies and glow objects were placed in jars along the tables.  Huge balloon arrangments were also positioned on the tables to play on height and add a 'Wow Factor'!

Citrus Splash: Adults tables had a fruit and vegetable centerpieces with mini African inspired votives with beaded handles.

Yael, thank you so much for sharing your creativity and amazing parties with us here at In Flight, it's been a pleasure!  Friends, to find out for about Yael's work visit her website and new blog:
