Duck, Duck, Goose Inspired Dessert Table

Little did I know that this table that started as a booth at a local Consignment Event would bring me so much joy....and an HGTV Blog feature!!!

I LOVE the colors I worked with but I can't take credit for it.  I wanted to keep the colors of the event's logo and their theme, which is Duck Duck Goose.  This event it's in neighbooring states so make sure to check them out, because it's huge and a great opportunity for Moms to shop and sell on Consignment seasonally.  The event happens only twice a year for about 5 days.

I worked with J at your service for a printable collection that included a rubber ducky in the awesome colors I was using.  She rocked it!  Edible Details and KJ Cookies were amazing to work with as well creating the perfect toppers and cookies for the table.

While the table was used for promotion, you know my idea here on the blog is to inspire you...

check out the water bottles on the table just dressed up a little with scrapbook paper.  The lollipops are $.50 from the groceries that I took out of their original wrapper and into my own plastic bags.  Favor Boxes from Simple Tastes are perfect for taking the little cookies home with you after a party but they are actually made to hold a cupcake in place.  I ordered 'Rubber Ducky' Chocolates from a local shop, Bradley's to compliment and who doesn't love chocolate?!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Western 15th Birthday

Today, I'm sharing with you a really neat party my friend Sara
hosted for her daughter Kiara as she turned 15.
The western theme was carried through the party with scene setters on the walls
 and lots of props.
I'm crushing on that cake (which she baked and decorated herself)
 and the creative photo booth.
I love how you can see hay everywhere on the floor on this party,
and how everyone wore their cowboy hats and jeans!

Cake made by Sara, love the lazzo on the stand!

Notice how all the walls were covered with scene setters and the silhouettes were created with cardboard and wood.

A sweet and salty menu and the cowgirls and cowboy hats for the arriving guests.

Sara found all her props and decorations at Hobby Lobby and Party City.
Cowboy Hats from Oriental Trading
Bags and Boxes from Hobby Lobby
The handmade invitation was created by adding elements to the brown swirls paper, also from Hobby Lobby.

Thanks to Sara and her daughter Kiara for sharing their party with us!
Happy 15th Birthday Kiara!

You can create a Western party like Kiara's with many of the products found at Hobby Lobby below, it's a great idea for both cowboys and cowgirls alike!

Mad Hatter by Dreamin' N Details

I want to share with you this Dessert Table that was entered in our recent Contest by Cineca of Dreamin' N Details

Now, Cineca just sent in pictures of her Dessert Table because we only required 1 table for the Contest, but this is a real party and there is so much more than the dessert table.  I loved it and asked her to share with us all about the party.  Here's the details as described by Cineca.

I was lucky enough to be able to put together this vibrant & fun 'We're All Mad' Mad Hatter Tea Party for a client's daughter this summer.
The birthday girl was very involved in the planning. She wanted bright colors, a large variety of candy & sweets and a sit down tea party.

I wanted to start with an amazing & unique invitation. I knew immediately that Piggy Bank Parties would be perfect for the job. Do & J not only custom designed the perfect invitation, but also an entire collection of party printables. Including signs, place cards, Eat Me/ Drink Me tags & labels.

I also called in the help of some other amazing party chicks. G at Celebration Today...The Superchick Way created a Krazy set of Kandy Kones and Carmen at Pom Flair made the beautiful tissue poms.

The dessert table consisted of the birthday girl's favorite candies...gummy bears, M&Ms, swedish fish, gumballs, cupcakes, twix, jelly beans & twizzlers. I made chocolate covered marshmallows & pretzels, and the birthday girl baked her own cake. I mounted posters from the movie Alice In Wonderland on foam board to create a backdrop.

The guests arrived in costume, sat down for tea (pink, blue & yellow lemonade) and pizza, attacked the candy table, posed for pictures with the Mad Hatter himself (well, a cardboard Johnny Depp version LOL) and played pink flamingo croquet & badminton.

It was the perfect day for an UnBirthday Tea Party!

About Kori:

"My name is Kori and I live in sunny Florida where I share my home with my sweet husband, two excited toddlers, and two large dogs who shed a bit too much. My computer is my life line and I have been using it to illustrate original graphics for over 10 years.  It was love at first digital illustration, and I graduated in digital arts. Since that time I have worked corporately and then had the opportunity to stay home and try to make this a full time gig, with freelance work. In spring of 2010 I launched Paper & Pigtails to concentrate on party designs!"

Kori's Work:

I love her work, I can relate to a lot of the colors and the themes that Kori uses and I'm lucky to have had Kori worked on some custom party supplies for me using my blog's logo to create party circles and a beautiful banner.  Kori also created our Free Father's Day Printable Circles.

Decor by Yael Feature

I'm so excited to share with you pictures of our Aussie friend Yael, an event planner and stylist!  Check out all the wonderful props on the tables at different events.  She shared with us her description on each.

Pink and Pretty Girls party - For the kids tables I had polka dot boxes heaped with all things
gorgeous and yummy from liquid wands, parasols, feather boas, large lollipops and heaps of ribbon.
Each place setting had a mini box of candies for take home

Adults tables were complimentary floral arrangements with pink rose topiaries and hydrangeas in white pots.  Each table had a contrasting polka dot runner.  The napkins were wrapped in shear ribbon with mini flowers inset underneath

Mad Hatters theme Adult tables had giant T Cups filled moss rocks, gerberas and sign posts saying
'looking glass', 'eat me' ....mini t cups with roses were scattered around the table...Polka dot lycra chair covers added to the quirkiness of the theme!

Boys party age 12 Theme : Citrus Splash...contrasting orange and aqua lycra chair covers and napkins bought the room to life!  Colour coordinated lollies and glow objects were placed in jars along the tables.  Huge balloon arrangments were also positioned on the tables to play on height and add a 'Wow Factor'!

Citrus Splash: Adults tables had a fruit and vegetable centerpieces with mini African inspired votives with beaded handles.

Yael, thank you so much for sharing your creativity and amazing parties with us here at In Flight, it's been a pleasure!  Friends, to find out for about Yael's work visit her website and new blog:
